About Us
The Inspiration
Palmer Family Landscaping started in July 2017 on a giant leap of faith. Cole had worked at a local Spokane nursery for the two years prior, which cultivated his love for plants and beautifying the land. With the help of neighbors, parents, and a little red 1992 baby truck, their lawn care business took off!
The Journey
After getting married in 2008, Cole and Melissa moved to Taiwan for a year, then to Tucson, Arizona for four years, where the first two little Palmers were added to the family. In Tucson, Cole taught at an elementary school, and they purchased their first home. He was let loose on turning their dirt and sand into a beautiful landscape.
The Growth
2017: Palmer Family Landscaping was established, focused solely on lawn care and maintenance.
2019: Joe Swift joined as a huge asset, utilizing his painting experience, as well as taking over the lawn care division.
2021: Many positive changes started the season off, including a change to the business name (Palmers Pro Services), and Melissa fully taking on the office position at 39 weeks pregnant with baby #6! Joe handled all the painting and lawn care, while Cole handled all the landscaping projects.
2022: The business pivoted fully from lawn care to painting for Joe, while the landscaping side undertook more creative and complex projects and design work.
2023: They happily helped Joe Swift start his own painting business (Swifts Painting 509-808-8488), then rebranded to Palmer Landscape Design! Hiring on brother-in-law Heath Shamblin, with his creative eye and vision, pushed our business further with continued growth in larger equipment, water feature additions, and broader scope “start to finish” design/build projects.
2024: Their 3 man crew was completed with the addition of Allan Bergman, allowing work to be much more efficient and productive. Cole, Heath, and Allan have great work flow on projects, as well as a lot of fun! They love what they do, and it shows in the finished landscapes!
God has provided every step of the way, and they look forward to what is in store for the future!
